The University saves
great effort to provide
the students with comfortable accommodation.
It accords special attention to students
who come from outside Greater Cairo, by
providing them with suitable accommodation. In
1957, the university founded the Student
Hostel in Abbassia, accommodating 500 students.
More housing units have been added since
then, so that the housing capacity of different
student hostels has reached 6200 for female
students and 2900 for male students, the
university has students under its supervision.
These students receive the same services
as those living in student hostels. Admission
and residence at these hostels is regulated
by a special student hostel statue approved
by the University Council. Administration
of the hostels is supervised by the Board
of Directors of the Students Hostels, headed
by the University Vice-president for Education
and Student Affairs. The university provides
hostel and nursing students with three free
meals, in addition to low price meal offered
to other student outside hostels. The university
has ten dining halls at different faculties,
institutes, and student hostels, to supply
the student with low price meals.
