A Comparative Study between Swarm Intelligence and Genetic Algorithms

Abstract:
In this paper, a comparative study between swarm intelligence and genetic algorithms is introduced. The comparison is based on the convergence speed of each algorithm, and the variation of the parameters for each algorithm is also studied. Simulation results show that swarm intelligence is faster than genetic algorithm in reaching the global optimum.
