An Expert System Approach for Knowledge Management

Abstract
Over the past two decades artificial intelligence (AI) has experienced rapid and innovative growth in its repertoire of techniques and practical applications. The best-known AI applications are expert systems. This paper discusses the new trends in expert systems development and implementation. Also the paper presents the criteria for each phase, planning . design and maintenance of knowledge management projects-based on expert systems technology. Developments of successful knowledge management projects must be faster, smarter and cleaner. To deliver faster, we must adopt more efficient expert systems development strategies and looks. To expand smarter, we need efficient and intelligent inference strategies. To develop cleaner, we need to ensure that AI fits into the existing computer world and in particular the web environment.
