Abstract:
We live in the age of information revolution, and there exist huge amount of information of varying nature. It is getting increasingly difficult to sieve the desired information. To avoid being drowned in the sea of information, we need to improve our techniques for accessing this huge information. The hypermedia and web technology helps in organizing and linking information of different multimedia, and then retrieving them in an efficient manner.
Many design methodologies ace available in the literature for designing Web-bated systems. Most of these methodologies suggest different techniques to analyze and design the systems, but they do not suggest any formal and automatic techniques that can transform raw and huge multimedia data of a system into a Web-Based information system (WIS) using the design of the WIS. The manual transformation that is used for these methodologies is laborious and time consuming. This drawback makes these methodologies unsuitable to be used for the development of huge WISs such as religious, social and historical WISs. To overcome this drawback, we propose a methodology which is referred to as a Web-Based Information System Generation Methodology (WIS-GM), and it takes a huge volume of raw multimedia data of an application and its design document, and transforms them into a WIS.
