Abstract
Digital image processing and computer vision has exhibited an impressive growth in the past decade in terms of both theoretical developments and applications. They constitute a leading technology in a number of very important areas. Digital telecommunications, broadcasting medical imaging, multimedia systems, biology, material sciences, robotics and manufacturing, intelligent sensing systems, remote sensing and graphic arts and printing are some of these covered areas. In this paper we are presenting two examples of the applications of the signal processing to enhance the design stage of equipment and to illustrate how signal-processing technology is widely used in different areas. The used technique presents a system that depends on processing and filtering automatically the intended images. The system relies on two step process which first, the finger image converted to digital matrix and then processed by using linear filters (Wiener and Carbox) for filtering. The detection is performed on a gray scale image containing any detected area. The applications are performed on the fingerprints. Hopefully, this system will help in reproducing a clear, fine and good quality images for the dedicated applications.
